1.     Take a walk along the Trinity River

Or jog, roller blade, bike, kayak, and more.  If outdoor activities are your thing, the Trinity River is definitely your place. There are trails along the river that you can do any number of land activities.  There are also places you can rent out kayaks for the day if you’re interested in a water activity.

2.     Volunteer

Many non-profits need all the help they can get in the summer, but taking a day or two to help others might help you as well.  One of the best feelings is the sense of satisfaction you get from helping others.  If you need ideas, some places that could always use volunteers are Union Gospel Mission, Tarrant County Food Bank, and the Humane Society of North Texas.

3.     Go to the Fort Worth Botanic Garden

This the perfect place to get out of the house and be surrounded by nature.  There are over 2,500 species of plants on over 100 acres.  If you are looking for a peaceful day, this is the place.

4.     Take a trip out to Fossil Rim (or the Zoo)

I, personally, am an animal lover.  My favorite way to spend a day is to look at and learn about animals.  Fossil Rim is quite a drive but interacting with the animals definitely makes it worth it.  If you don’t have all day, the Zoo is still very fun and interesting!

5.     Go horseback riding

Even if you don’t have horses, places like Rancho La Rosa let you take a guided horseback trail ride.  It’s a great way to enjoy a sunny day with other people and probably a new experience for some of them.

6.     Go to the Fort Worth Water Gardens

This is a really cool place and if you haven’t seen it before, you should.  There are a couple different pools, including an active pool where you can walk to the bottom and be surrounded by running water.  It’s calm and peaceful to watch the flowing water run down the steps.

7.     Try some delicious sweet treats around town

On a nice hot day, there is nothing more refreshing than something cold and sweet.  Two places that are a bit newer in Fort Worth are Steel City Pops and Melt Ice Creams.  Both are delicious options and will instantly cool you down.

8.     Visit the Stockyards

The Stockyards is always a great reminder of how Fort Worth started out.   Even better, there’s so much to do in this section of town.  The Stockyards has some of the best barbeque I’ve ever had.  There’s also Billy Bob’s and rodeos, which provide lots of entertainment.  They even have cattle drives twice a day!  You can visit the Stockyards many times and still not see all it has to offer.

9.      Hang out in Sundance Square

Sundance Square is a great place to sit and people watch in downtown Fort Worth.  It’s perfect for that day you just want to sit back, relax, and enjoy the day.  Shops and restaurants surround it, so there’s plenty to do all day for the whole family.

10.  Visit the Fort Worth Food Park

There are actually two main food truck parks in Fort Worth: the Fort Worth Food Park and Clearfork Food Park.  Both of these offer great options for food.  Food truck parks are great because you can order a variety of food there.  It’s a cool place to go on a nice day and experience some local food.

Our Roman Strap Sandal Flats or the Brown Oxi is perfect for comfort and fashion while strolling around town! Most of our bags can fit everything you need for a day out in the sun so get out and enjoy this weather!

Going to Colonial this weekend?

Hey RWC friends! If you didn’t know already, Fort Worth’s very own Colonial Country Club is hosting the annual Crowne Plaza Invitational this weekend.   As residents of Fort Worth, we are looking forward to this event.  If you are going, you may be wondering what to wear.  Luckily, we’ve been thinking the very same thing and have some suggestions for you.   We’ve seen some people wear sundresses, others wear golf-type looking attire, and still some others are wearing nice shorts and a top.  It seems like you can pretty much wear whatever your heart desires! Check out our Pinterest for some other ideas as well.

But keep in mind that you will be doing a lot of walking and probably want your hands free to hold a refreshing drink.  We recommend wearing our Gigi bag.  It’s a black round cross body bag made of premium leather.  It’s perfect for fitting a wallet, phone, keys, and any other necessities.  It’s light and comfortable, and you won’t have to worry about holding on to a clutch all day.  Now onto the shoes, you’re going to want something comfortable and airy that you can walk in all day.  The perfect shoe for this is…drumroll please…our Sabrina flats!  It has a cork base to keep you cool and the shoe light.  One of its best features is that it has an anatomic sole, which will ensure your comfort even after walking all day around the Colonial Country Club.  Hope you all have a great time this weekend!  Comment for any other ideas!

How a bag is born

There is unique craft behind each design. What we see, touch, and eventually deliver to your doorstep has been once a vision on a crisp piece of paper or just in the mind of a great talent. When we decided to collaborate with a unique designer, we knew we have found it in MAKS MIUK LONDON.

There is a specific art associated with bringing a drawing to live. Our team selects materials for each bag very carefully. Sometimes, not all designs look perfect in all colors. This is where craftsmanship begins and frivolity ends. It is our mission to deliver great pieces and really focus on combining materials, imagination, and hard work in one complete package.

We hope you love our new handbag line as much as we loved creating it.

XOXO

What materials do we use in our soles?

As you might already have noticed, we are proud to use sustainable materials for our shoes and focus on premium leathers to craft our handbags and accessories. You might wonder what exactly natural rubber is and how it is made. We have all the dirty details!

Natural Resin, also known, as “caoutchouc” across the world is a sustainable natural rubber, derived from the sap of trees native to the tropics. Caoutchouc, as initially produced, consists of polymers of the organic compound isoprene, with minor impurities of other organic compounds plus water.

What sustainable benefits does natural rubber have?

Our sustainable rubber soles are extremely durable and hardwearing, resulting in a long product life. Natural rubber is scuff-resistant and has low maintenance requirements. It doesn’t contain any PVC, plasticizers (phthalate) or halogens (e.g., chlorine). Since they do not contain PVC, our caoutchouc rubber soles also do not generate any hydrochloric acid, dioxins or furans, leading to a healthier environment, once you decide to part ways with your pair.

Did you know?

We source our soles form local suppliers, thus reducing CO2 emissions across the supply chain.

Around 25 million tones of rubber are produced each year. Only 40 % of rubber across the globe is sourced from natural resources.

What Inspired Us

The story of RebelWithCause is just as unique as the products we sell. While traveling through beautiful Europe, we couldn't help but notice the sense of fashion of the locals. From the beautiful clean style of the Swiss business woman, to the relaxed funky style of the French and Bulgarian college girls. All have an amazing love for fashion and all express it in their own unique way.

What we noticed is how important beautiful shoes and handbags are in the everyday style of the European woman. Quality and attention to detail are key when choosing a product to wear and this is when we decided that every woman should have a unique well made piece in her closet that she is proud to show off on the way to work, at an event, or simply strolling through town.

We collaborated with designers and manufacturers form Bulgaria and the UK and came up with one of a kind pieces made of sustainable products and high quality premium leathers.  RebelWithCause values creative expression and we are proud to support our designers' wild imagination. We have an exciting line coming up for FALL 2015 and we can't wait to share it with YOU!

Be rebellious. Stay fabulous.
